When Pens members are asked to ‘bring it’, boy oh boy, do they bring it and ‘then some’!
With autobiography as the general theme for this meeting, how wonderful it was to hear so many lives being put into words for us all to share. Following on from the inspiring workshop at the previous gathering, those writers that were working on the topic anyway shared yet more of their lives with an enthralled, amused and appreciative audience. With worldly travellers, educators, and artists that we know and are loving more and more, it was also great to hear about the day to day lives of lives closer to home and in often challenging or amusing times, be it tragic personal injury or the day to day privations of a war-torn city for a young girl. All contributions were received well and many discussion points on structure, style and content developed the critique that most people seemed grateful for. We can all learn from others in so many ways.
Other news, well, no news on the status of the Library but watch this space as the dread hour approaches.
Various literary themed events were also noted and links can be found below; let’s share our experiences, talent, learn, and grow.
The subject for the next meeting is not quite finalised but watch and listen for full details nearer the time; that is at least fixed for Wednesday 15th March. Whatever we do, always have some writing to share or push on with new things, we love it all.
Remember – a Writer is only a Writer if they Write.
